Here are a few of our favourite things to do!

  1.  Oke Bay is a local’s hang out. Head out to Rawhiti, climb the steep steps, and be rewarded with a stunning view: pure blue water, white sandy beaches. If you are feeling fit head over the hill to Whangamumu Harbour. – Free
  2. Sandboarding Hokinga with Hokianga express charters  021 405872.
  3. Rainbow Falls/ Fairy Pools– walk along the Kerikeri River bank to the spectacular Rainbow Falls. The river is also home to the Fairy Pools, a sheltered swimming spot with water warmed by running over the heat-soaked river bed. – Free
  4. Adventure Puketi has a fully guided 2 hr Night Walk in the Puketi Forest. On twilight listen to the bird song changing from day calls to night calls, see the bats flying overhead feeding on the insects and on night fall observe the nocturnal wildlife of the forest in their habitats.   5. St Paul’s Rock, St Paul’s track leads to St Paul’s Rock, which stands high above Whangaroa and provides spectacular views of the Whangaroa Harbour. – Free
  6. Wairere Boulders is a Nature Park created on private property. Here you enjoy a world unique basalt boulder formation on a stroll through the Wairere valley. There is also Bouldering available. 09 4019935

  8. Walk the Mangrove Walk to Haruru Falls From the Treaty grounds the track follows the bushclad banks of the Waitangi River to Haruru Falls. A boardwalk section passes through mangrove forest. Return via the same track. – Free
  9. Catch fish and dinner with Steve Butler on Earl Grey, or with Spot X,or Bluesea Charters.
  10. Mahinepua Peninsula Track. This track travels the length of the peninsula, mainly along the ridgetop, giving access to the many sheltered bays and providing outstanding coastal views. – Free
